Nous Research confirms a $1.5B valuation and launches business agents

Nous Research raised a $90 million Series B for its business-agent push. Hermes adoption figures leave paying demand and workflow reliability to be tested.

Nous Research has raised a $90 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation, according to TechCrunch’s October 7 report. The developer of the open source Hermes Agent is using the funding to expand into business agents with Hermes for Businesses.

The product lets companies deploy customized agents for multi-step workflows. TechCrunch describes private and secure handling of company data as part of the offer. For prospective buyers, the next question is how those promises hold up in a deployment with their own data and tasks.

Funding follows developer adoption

Robot Ventures led the round. Other backers include Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital. The financing brings the three-year-old company’s total funding to $158 million.

TechCrunch reports that Hermes Agent has been cloned more than 24 million times and accounts for roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage. Both figures come from Nous Research’s estimates. They describe the agent’s reach among developers and individuals as the company pursues enterprise customers.

The report also cites The Wall Street Journal on revenue. Nous was at roughly $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September 2026 and expects to pass $100 million before the end of the year.
