SpaceXSI bundles X Premium, Grok and Cursor into one subscription

The X Subscription costs $8 to $200 a month. Compare it with ChatGPT and Claude, including the extra charges for third-party models inside Cursor.

SpaceX Super Intelligence is combining X Premium, Grok and Cursor in The X Subscription. Paid plans cost $8, $30, $100 or $200 a month, alongside a free tier. The bundle puts social features, AI chat and coding under one bill, but developers who use Claude or GPT inside Cursor still pay extra for those models.

The company’s subscription documentation explains the distinction. Grok and Cursor share a weekly pool of included usage. Third-party models in Cursor charge API list prices from the first use, paid from prepaid credit.

What each X tier buys

SpaceXSI’s pricing page lists these monthly prices before sales tax. The usage multipliers describe the bundle’s included allowance relative to Plus.

PlanMonthly priceIncluded usage
Free$0Limited
Plus$8Base allowance
Premium$304 times the base allowance
Super$10015 times the base allowance
Ultra$20050 times the base allowance

Paid plans include X Premium benefits when users connect a personal X account. Grok Bot starts at Premium and draws from the same pool. TechCrunch reports that Premium or higher is also required for the latest Grok models.

The usage rules say different activities consume the pool at different rates. Once it runs out, further first-party usage costs additional credits. Spending caps can limit that extra usage. A 50-times allowance therefore does not translate into a fixed number of coding tasks.

How the prices compare with ChatGPT and Claude

For individual monthly subscriptions, the closest price comparisons are:

The X SubscriptionChatGPTClaude
Plus at $8Go at $8Pro at $20 is Claude’s entry paid plan
Premium at $30Plus at $20Pro at $20
Super at $100Pro has a $100 tierMax starts at $100
Ultra at $200Pro has a $200 tierMax offers 5-times or 20-times Pro usage

OpenAI’s pricing documentation lists Codex access with ChatGPT plans. Plus includes the web, command-line and IDE tools. Pro has $100, $200 and $500 options. ChatGPT Work and Codex share usage.

Claude Pro includes Claude Code at $20 billed monthly. Its annual option costs $200 up front. Max offers larger usage allowances, starting at $100 a month.

That makes coding access part of the comparison for all three providers. X’s bundle adds social benefits, while the coding allowance and model choice still determine how much development work the bill covers. The providers’ usage multipliers use different baselines, so matching prices cannot establish matching capacity.

Switching changes the accounts as well as the bill

Existing customers can keep their current plans. SpaceXSI says switching combines eligible Cursor and Grok accounts under one workspace and bill, and the switch is permanent. Eligible selected subscriptions receive prorated refunds. Cursor subscriptions bought through Apple’s App Store need separate cancellation to stop Apple billing.
