Meta has launched Meta Enterprise Platform, an initiative to turn its AI products into services for businesses and developers. The company hired Chirantan “CJ” Desai, MongoDB’s CEO, to lead it, according to TechCrunch.
Meta named Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code as parts of the technology it plans to bring to business customers. Muse began as a personal assistant earlier this month. It can carry out tasks such as sending emails and booking travel. The new initiative brings that agent alongside Meta’s business agent and developer tools under an enterprise plan.
A software executive to run the effort
Desai said Meta Enterprise Platform will turn the company’s AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses. His move puts an executive from a database software company in charge of Meta’s push into corporate AI sales.
MongoDB appointed former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim chief executive while its board searches for a permanent replacement, TechCrunch reported. Its shares fell more than 17% on news of Desai’s departure.
